METAVEL , a calligrapher and miniaturist was born in Algeria and immigrated to Israel in 1960. Since then she lives and works in Tel-Aviv.
After some years of painting in abstract style, her work focused on the illustration of biblical and traditional texts.
She has painted all works using solely watercolor, while applying special, personal techniques.
Her illuminated manuscripts have been published as printed editions and have been exhibited in many cities around the world, including Paris, Vienna, Frankfurt, Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem.
